Hey so I'm overweight (68 kilograms, 5 foot 3) and I want to run every morning. I've talked briefly with my mum before about it, but she said its not safe for a 16 year old to be running alone around our neighbourhood. I want to ask her if I can run even though she won't let me, do you have any tips to persuade her? (:
First off, I wouldn’t call 68kg ( about 149 pounds) overweight.
If it’s not safe to run in your neighborhood I’d recommend listening to your mother. However maybe you could find some middle ground. Ask her to drive you somewhere where she approves of (aka a local park, the beach, a lake, etc.)
There’s a lot of at home exercises you can do if you’re looking to get in even better shape also! (check out youtube or bodybuilding.com). Physical fitness is important, yes, but your personal safety comes first :)
